Conditions we help

Treatable Conditions

At Manalapan Spine Care & Rehab, our specific and thorough treatments help alleviate a variety of pains and illnesses. In order to cater to your overall health, we’ve listed the most common conditions that we treat.

Back & Neck Pain

Back and neck pain is often caused by acute injuries or a slow degenerative process.

Hip Pain

Tendons and muscles in the hip get worn out with age and heavy use. The leading factors causing hip pain are arthritis, hip fractures, tendonitis and muscle strains.

The sciatic nerve extends from the lower back down each leg. Sciatica is a common type of pain that affects this nerve.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that consists of extensive pain throughout the body and is difficult to diagnose.

Peripheral Neuropathy

This neuropathy affects the nerves outside the brain and spine. It causes pain and numbness in the hands and feet and is often a result of infections, metabolic disorders, traumatic injuries or exposure to toxins.

Shoulder Pain

Since this ball and socket joint is very mobile, it’s more likely to be injured. Origin of this pain may stem from overexertion, tendonitis, dislocation, fractures or pinched nerves.

Wrist & Elbow Pain

Repetitive stress to the wrist and arm are common factors that lead to elbow pain.

Foot & Ankle Pain

Often associated with osteoarthritis, foot and ankle pain sometimes results in swelling, discomfort and deformity.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Our treatment options are proven to help the tingling, numbness, weakness, or pain felt in the fingers or palm due to carpal tunnel.

Bursitis is a condition where the bursa becomes inflamed or irritated. The bursa is located between tissues and decreases rubbing, friction and irritation.

Tendonitis is a condition in which a tendon becomes irritated or inflamed.

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

As the perfect non-invasive treatment method, Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression helps release the nerves that may be compressed within your spine. This method adjusts the vertebrae, discs and joints in your spine that may be misaligned and comfortably forces them back into place.

Why Does My Back Have So Much Compression?

Causes of compression may come from bad posture, repeated stress or injuries to your spine. The pain you feel comes from a restriction of the flow of nutrients going to your nerves. Often times water, oxygen and other fluids have trouble flowing in and out the discs and with the diffusion of these fluids comes healing to your torn or degenerated discs.

How Decompression Works

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression takes place on a decompression table where your spine is slowly and gently stretched out to put your spine’s discs back into shape and into place. You’ll lay on your back and have padding around your waist and lower chest for the ultimate safety and comfort.

Treatments include stretching and periods of relaxation. After multiple treatments, your compressed disc will slowly get back into shape and regain the natural flow of nutrients in and around your spine.

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression helps alleviate the pain and aches caused by:

Bulging Discs
Herniated Discs
Pinched Nerves
Radiating Arm Pain
Leg Pain
Degenerative Disc Disease
Facet Syndromes

At Manalapan Spine Care & Rehabilitation, our goal is simple: help you feel better, get healthy and stay healthy. We understand that many of our patients want to avoid surgery and invasive procedures to help with their aches and pains. At our office, we’re proud to offer ReBuilder® – a treatment that is not only effective, but also comfortable and affordable.

For patients who suffer from neuropathy (numbness in the hands or feet), the ReBuilder® serves as the perfect alternative treatment. NO prescriptions drugs and NO surgery needed. The ReBuilder® is an electric stimulator that re-trains your damaged nerves to get back into your body’s unique rhythm.

The ReBuilder® is used as nerve pain treatment in many cancer hospitals across the country due to its ease, effectiveness and convenience. It can be used in three methods: footbath, conductive socks and conductive gloves.

This new technology creates electrical impulses that stimulate the nervous system to improve your nerves’ functionality and soothe the pain of your feet or hands. Treatments typically begin with 30-minute sessions and can be adjusted depending on the speed of its effectiveness. Patients experience small, pulsating sensations and can adjust the intensity of the treatment for maximum comfort and convenience.

Rebuilder® is also proven to treat:

Restless leg syndrome

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Idiopathic neuropathy

Chemo-induced neuropathy

Charcot Marie-Tooth

Piriformis entrapment syndrome

Rebuilder® is covered under Medicare and most private insurance plans.

Knee & Joint Pain

When painkillers, creams and ointments don’t alleviate the pain you feel in your joints anymore, it may be time to give us a call. With safe, effective and non-invasive treatments, we’ll find the root of your joint pain to better alleviate your aches.

Whether you’re suffering from arthritis, consistent pressure around your joints or difficulty getting up and down, our approach will help you better manage your pain so you can walk (and sit) free of pain.

Physical Therapy

At Manalapan Spine Care & Rehabilitation, our physical therapy treatments (manipulations/adjustments) aim to improve your balance, enhance your mobility and increase your strength with exercise, stretching and weight-lifting.

Because pain medications can only do so much, strength exercises and stretching are the best methods to get your knee and other joints back in tip-top shape. We make sure to not twist or bend your joints, but rather apply small impulses to realign your pain area.

If you experience any of these symptoms, you should give us a call today:

Knee pain while sitting or getting up

Knee pain while bending or kneeling down

Knee pain when you apply pressure on the joint

Feeling that your joint is out of place

Acupuncture is the process of penetrating the skin painlessly with needles to stimulate and soothe parts of the body. As the perfect addition to chiropractic care, we use acupuncture when we see health problems that seem to be caused by disruption.

Acupuncture is most effective when treating arthritis and even muscle pains around your joints. It’s important to note that acupuncture is not used by itself, but instead, supplements the chiropractic process.

During acupuncture treatment, you can expect hair-thin metal needles to be inserted at specific points in your body. Once in, the needles are left for several minute and can be energized, twirled, or warmed to enhance the treatment.

Should you have any questions or concerns about acupuncture or physical therapy to treat your joint pain, please feel free to give us a call.
